Leonard H. Immel, formerly of Madisonburg, passed away April 29, 2024, at Zerbe Sisters Retirement Community in Narvon, PA. He was 92. Born July 21, 1931, in Zion, Leonard was a son of the late Wallace and Almedith “Rearick” Immel. On December 24, 1955, he married B. Vivian Corman who preceded him in death in 2019.
Leonard was a graduate of the former Gregg Township Vocational School in Spring Mills. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Leonard was employed with Sunoco, retiring with 41 years of service, first as a welder on the pipeline for 19 years and then as a pipeliner for 22 years. When he wasn’t working, Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially mowing his lawn. He had a cabin on the mountain behind his home and enjoyed spending time there. In their younger years, he and Vivian enjoyed traveling, camping and attending Grange Fair. Finally, Vivian was no longer able to get around and Leonard faithfully cared for her for 13 years. Most of all Leonard enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Leonard is survived by one daughter, Betty Osborne (David) of Nottingham; one son, Jeffrey Immel (Laura) of Mohnton; six grandchildren, Ronald Immel (Rebecca), Mandy Immel, Cheyenne Immel, Dakota Immel, Luke Osborne and Allyson Osborne and three great grandchildren, Jake, Tyler and Chloe. Also surviving is a daughter in law, Dawn of Exeter. In addition to his wife, Leonard was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Immel and siblings, Andrew Immel, Eugene Immel and Evelyn Resides.
