Lewis Eugene Corman Sr. 91, of Millheim passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the farm home surrounded by his family. Lewis was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was known for his love of his family and the family farm and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Lewis was born in the family farmhouse in Millheim on July 8, 1933. He was the ninth of ten children born to the late Orvis E. and Mable Stover Corman. He was a 1952 graduate of the former East Penns Valley High School, where he played soccer and wrestled. On March 20, 1954, he married the love of his life Shirley L. Crust who survives at their home. They were blessed with 70 wonderful years together. They had six children, four of whom are still living. Lewis E. Corman Jr. (Lori) of Millheim, Debra Immel of Aaronsburg, Candace Wasson (Ronald) of State College, Alta Corman-Wolf (Kip) of Howard. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, Terri Spahr, Lewis (Ted) E. Corman III, Jaime Ross (Jeremy), Andrea Gill (Jim), Latrisha Hough (Ronnie), Nicole Driebelbis (Dustin), Krystal Berkey (Luke), Heather Wasson, Halee Wasson, Ashlee Kochik (Brian), Orry Corman (Hannah), Olivia Vogt (Barron), Olia Corman and Owyn Corman; twenty great grandchildren, Alex Corman, Zane, Nathan, and Joshua Spahr, Kaylee Butts (Taylor), Alexis Mondy (Max), Megan Ross, Jordan, Colleen, and Kaden Gill, Kimber Hough, Sadee, Rafe, and Hattie Driebelbis, Peyton Berkey, Hudson Stultz, Bowen and Locklyn Kochik, Liam McCarthy and Easton Vogt; one sister, Ruth C. Rudy of Centre Hall and a daughter in law, Kama Corman, also of Centre Hall. He was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first great great grandchild due in February 2025.

In addition to his parents Lewis was preceded in death by his son, Orvie E. Corman and his daughter, Sharon L. Corman; five brothers, Gervis, Robert, Orvis, Randall, and Ray and three sisters, Maebelle Alters, Betty Vivian Immel, and Meriam Dreibelbis.

Lewis loved agriculture, he was a dairy farmer on the same farm he was born and raised. He served as a delegate to the Eastern Milk Producers in New York. He became an auctioneer from 1955 through 1985 serving all of Centre County - Penns Valley, Brush Valley, Nittany Valley, Bellefonte and Pleasant Gap. He drove a school bus for the Penns Valley School District from

1971 - 1979. He was a kind person, served his community and was a mentor to many. Lewis was a hard worker and would be found around the family farm. He enjoyed the simple things in life, especially spending time with family and many friends. He loved people and socializing. He looked forward to football season, especially the Penns Valley Rams and the Penn State Nittany

Lions. Family will fondly recall his storytelling, hugs and his ability to fix anything and lend a helping hand.

Lewis served his community, he was President of the Millheim Fire Company, a Member Millheim Borough Council, a Member of the Penns Valley Grange #158, a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ where he served as church school Superintendent. He was President of the Penns Valley Band Boosters where he participated in the Snow Frolics for many years.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am -12:00 pm, Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon with Pastor Vince Smith officiating.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to Mt. Nittany Medical Center, Centre Care and UPMC Hospice for all the care and support.

Lewis will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Millheim. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Orvie Corman Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Doug Welsh 120 Airport Road, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
