Linda C. (Confer) Marquardt

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda C. Marquardt, of Spring Mills, April 8, 2025, at Wynwood House in Centre Hall.  She was 82.  Born April 30, 1942, in Bellefonte, Linda was the daughter of the late Warren A. and Mable V. Confer.  She attended Beaver Dam School and was a 1960 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School, both in Spring Mills.  On December 27, 1964, Linda married Paul H. Marquardt who preceded her in death on May 16, 1992.  

Linda is survived by one daughter, Michelle A. Marquardt (Greg) of Spring Mills: a son, Michael P. Marquardt (Karen) of Spring Mills: three siblings, Carol Myers (Jerry) of Spring Mills, Arabella Confer (Ray) of Millheim, and James Confer (Susan) of Spring Mills and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda was employed as a secretary by The Pennsylvania State University where she retired after 35 years of service. She was a proud Penn State fan. After retirement Linda worked for Johnson Brothers Accounting Firm in Spring Mills as a courier. Linda also enjoyed managing her Muddy Creek Farms Black Angus beef business that she was very proud of. Linda was an active member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Spring Mills. She served as secretary for the Holy Cross Cemetery Association. Linda loved cooking and sharing meals with others. She looked forward to attending the Grange Fair each year. You could always find her at the Junior Livestock Sale buying and donating animals. Linda also enjoyed listening to music and singing. Among the things she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and helping others. Linda was a positive and happy individual. She always had a smile on her face and would do anything for anyone.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Wynwood House in Centre Hall, who helped with Linda’s care while she resided there. And thank you to the Grane Hospice team who provided exceptional hospice services.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at New Hope Lutheran Church in Spring Mills. The service and funeral will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Lauretta Dietrich officiating. Linda will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Linda may be given to New Hope Lutheran Church, 119 Cobblestone Ct., Spring Mills, PA 16875.
