Mabel C. “Mitzie” Krape formerly of Millheim, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Wynwood House in Boalsburg. She was 92. Born April 26, 1933, in Aaronsburg, Mitzie was a daughter of the late Paul W. Krape, Sr. and Mary J. (Bright) Krape. She was a 1952 graduate of the former East Penns Valley High School.
Mitzie retired from the State College Area School District where she had been employed as a secretary. After retirement, she worked as the receptionist at the former Stapleton Chiropractic office in Millheim where her cheery smile greeted you when you walked in the door.
Mitzie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Millheim. She loved cats and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, watching Penn State football, vegetable and flower gardening and especially reading her Bible.
Surviving Mitzie are three nephews, Kelly Brindle, Kevin Brindle and Billy Krape, along with several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Paul W. Krape, Jr. and her sister, Rose Brindle.
Family and friends will be received at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10-11 am. The Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Becky Horn officiating. Mitzie will be laid to rest in Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Aaronsburg. Contributions in memory of Mitzie may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, POB 439, Millheim PA 16854 or because of Mitzie’s love for cats, to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall PA 16828.
