Marjorie L. "Tillie" Bennett

Surrounded by her loving family, Marjorie L. “Tillie” Bennett of Rebersburg stepped into the waiting arms of Jesus on Saturday, August 20, 2022.  She was 91.  Born February 17, 1931 in Rebersburg, Marjorie was a daughter of the late Robert C. and Miriam “Breon” Brungart.  On June 23, 1948, in Rebersburg, Marjorie married Charles F. Bennett who survives. 

Marjorie was a longtime member of the Rebersburg God’s Missionary Church where she had taught Sunday school for many years.  Church was an important part of her life.  She also enjoyed vegetable gardening and flower gardening.  Most important of all to Marjorie was spending time with her family. 

In addition to her husband, Marjorie is survived by one son, Barry C. Bennett (Margaret) of Rebersburg; three grandchildren, Rev. Frederick Bennett (Adena) of Milesburg, Hannah Shrout (Lucas) of Boiling Springs, SC and Sonya Snyder (Abe) of Watsontown.  Also surviving are eight great grandchildren, Cedric (Kecia), Kaylee, Alfred, Mariah, Emily, Laura, Ashlyn and Zakary.  Marjorie was the last of her family having been preceded by all her siblings. 

A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 6-8 pm at the Rebersburg Gods Missionary Church, 145 N. Alley, Rebersburg, PA.  The funeral will be held at the church Thursday, August 25th at 11:00 am with Rev. John Zechman and Rev. Fred Bennett officiating.  Marjorie will be laid to rest in the Evangelical Cemetery in Rebersburg.  Contributions in memory of Marjorie may be given to Rebersburg GMC, c/o Peg Bennett, 157 Rockville Road, Rebersburg, PA 16872.
