Our lives are poorer today after Marta Joshell (Hamilton) Klinger, 45, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Centre Hall on April 16, 2026. She is survived by her mother, Roberta Joann Hamilton of Aaronsburg and her two children, Ava Marie, 14 and Wyatt Marshall, 8. Marta was born April 22, 1980, in Westminster, Orange County, California and was raised in State College and the Centre Region, graduating from State College Area High School in 1998.
Marta was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and D. Arlene Hamilton with whom she was very close.
For the past several years she has been the manager at Pet Supplies Plus in State College where her dedication and organizational skills were put to good use.
An avid equestrian, Marta spent many happy hours on horseback, and had a special knack with all animals, devoting much of her life working with them in various capacities.
Marta went to Oklahoma to train to be a coldsmith, including the ability to make horseshoes. She enjoyed creative artistry and driving Dutch Harness horses. Later Marta returned to school as an adult student to earn a degree in Business Administration.
In addition to spending time with her children, which included taking leisurely family hikes through natural areas, Marta’s other passion was for horses and spent much of her time riding and grooming (what else do you do with horses).
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Marta may be given to Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, POB 437, Millheim PA 16854.
