Mary L. Barry, of Spring Mills, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She was 94. Born April 25, 1930, Mary was a daughter of the late Louis L. and Bertha K. “King” Bartlebaugh. She was a 1949 graduate of the former Armagh Brown Joint High School in Reedsville. On October 27, 1950, Mary married Ardell R. Barry who preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2013.
Mary was a homemaker all her life. She took great pride in her home and caring for her family. She enjoyed flower gardening, bowling, swimming and doing crosswords. She was an accomplished oil painter. She enjoyed summers spent with her family at their summer home in Poe Valley.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Judy Boone (Rick) of Spring Mills; three grandchildren, Macade Ardell Thompson of Rebersburg, Julie K. Fetterolf of Marietta, and Brooke Boone Jodon (Todd) of Spring Mills and two great grandchildren, Connor Jodon and Kaitlyn Jodon. In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen Barry; a grandson, Jeremy L. Boone and siblings, Betty B. Linthurst, John Bartlebaugh, Peggy Bartlebaugh and Shirley Young.
In accordance with Mary’s wishes, services are private. She will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be given to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Hwy, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
