Michael L. Lamey, 42, left this world September 24, 2023, on a wing and a Grateful Dead guitar string. He joins his mother, Linda A. Lamey.
Mike spent half his life being chased by the wife he leaves behind, Dana Holland. Their love story was epic. The rest of his life, he spent loving his daughter, Maggie Rose. Also left to love Mike is the man he looked up to, his father, Ron Lamey, and his brother, Brad Lamey, whom he loved to try to get a rise out of.
Before Dana and Maggie, Mike spent his life travelling and attending anything Grateful Dead. He did what he wanted, when he wanted, how he wanted. He couldn’t be tamed, although his Momma tried. His love for The Dead was almost as big as the love he had for family and friends.
Mike was an avid hunter his whole life. Every deer, turkey, and bear sighting was worthy of a brake slam like it was the first time ever. Usually with a “Ya see it?”. His eagle eye was keen.
In true Michael fashion, very little consideration was given before it was decided that Mike’s life will be celebrated with a party. Meet us at the Millheim Hotel on September 30, 2023, any time after 3:00 pm. Wear a Deadhead shirt. Anyone not able to join us, raise a glass anyway and see a show.
Contributions in memory of Mike may be given to the Penns Valley EMS, 106 Ross Hill Road, Spring Mills, PA 16875 or to the Millheim Fire Company, c/o Dennis Heggenstaller, POB 656, Millheim PA 16854.
