Michael A. Stroud

Our brother, Michael A. Stroud, formerly of Millheim, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Germany due to natural causes.  Born June 29, 1964, in Williamsport, Mike was the son of the late Robert and Freda Stroud. 

He is survived by siblings Brenda Ross (Paul) of Port Matilda, Glenda Stroud of Aaronsburg, Robert Stroud (Karen) of Gibsonton, FL, Deborah Fisher of Mesa, AZ, Daniel Stroud (Sue) of Roaring Branch and JoAnn Sechrist (Steve) of Trout Run.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Following graduation from Penns Valley High School, Mike proudly served his country by joining the United States Army.  His service included a tour in Desert Storm with the 501st Transportation Company.  After serving in the Army, Mike made his residence in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany, the country he dearly loved and called home for many years.

Mike enjoyed carpentry, visiting family and friends in the States, spending time with friends at Rothenburg Guckloch Pub and riding motorcycles with the Motorcycle Club Guzendorf.  Everyone who knew Mike felt his big heart and giving nature.  He will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he made through his journeys.

A public Celebration of Life for Mike will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim with Pastor Josh Simonetti officiating.  Mike will be laid to rest in Trout Run Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that you consider a donation be given to help offset the cost of the overseas service and charges.  Donations can be sent to Steven R.
