Nancy G. Buchanan

Nancy G. Buchanan, formerly of Millheim, passed away February 3, 2026, at Juniper Village in State College.  She was 89.  Born October 22, 1936, in Coburn, Nancy was a daughter of the late Harold S. and Marian L. (Hosterman) Guisewite.  Nancy was married to Milford A. “Pete” Buchanan who preceded her in death on April 18, 2024.

Nancy was a graduate of the former East Penns Valley High School.  She was employed with the U.S. Postal Service with twenty-five years of service.  Nancy last held the position of Postmaster at the Millheim Post Office.  She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Millheim where she was active in the choir and bell choir.  Nancy enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, skiing and traveling. 

Nancy is survived by two sons, Steven Buchanan (Carmen) of TX and Charles Buchanan (Mindy) of MD; one brother, Roger Guisewite (Clair) of Aaronsburg and four grandchildren, Evan Buchanan of CA, Alex Buchanan of TX, Benjamin Buchanan of TX and Lexi Jo Buchanan of MD.  She was preceded in death by two siblings, Betty Cable and Robert Guisewite. 

Nancy will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery during a private graveside service to be held at a later date.  Contributions in memory of Nancy may be given to the charity of donor's choice.
