Nancy Jane Hosterman, 88, of Spring Mills, passed away at Mount Nittany Medical Center on December 8, 2024. Born March 11, 1936, in Bellefonte, Nancy was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Meriam R. “Long” Owens. She was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. On June 5, 1954, she married the love of her life, F. David Hosterman who preceded her in death on September 26, 2023.
Nancy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Millheim. She was employed at the former Gettig Pharmaceutical in Spring Mills, retiring with 20+ years of service. Nancy was an avid bingo player and enjoyed crocheting and reading as well. Nancy enjoyed going out to eat with her Amish friends, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She recently said her best days were the ones she spent with her children. Nancy was known for her no-nonsense approach to life, her devilish sense of humor and for her abiding love for Dave, her true soulmate.
Nancy is survived by one son, Jeffrey Hosterman (Dawn) of Spring Mills; four daughters, Meriam Berry (Jim) of Spring Mills, Susan Stewart (Mark) of Bellefonte, Elizabeth Engelhardt (Dean) of West Grove, and Barbara Morar (Larry) of State College and two siblings, Leroy Martin and Janet Vonada (Jerry). Also surviving are ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by ten siblings.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nancy’s wonderful caregivers, Anna Fisher, Deb Heckman, Lori Struble, Ruth Fisher and Tracey Hodge, for all the love and care they have given Nancy over the years.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 11:00 am until 12 noon at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon with Pastor Becky Horn officiating. Nancy will be laid to rest in Heckman Cemetery in rural Spring Mills.
