Nanette Immel Obituary

Nanette E. Immel, formerly of Aaronsburg, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Lock Haven Rehab and Senior Living.  She was 87.  Born July 15, 1936, in Coburn, Nanette was a daughter of the late Homer W. and Genevieve A. “Boob” Keen.  On December 27, 1953, she married John Brindle who preceded her in death on November 30, 1993.

Nanette held several jobs in her lifetime.  She worked at the former Valley Manufacturing in Millheim, Laurelton State Center, and the Fairways at Brookline, now Juniper Village.  She was a former member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in Aaronsburg where she had been active in the choir and served on various committees.  Recently she attended Grace United Church of Christ in Spring Mills.  Nanette enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, crocheting, quilting, tole painting and bowling on a ladies team.  In her younger years her favorite activities included playing the clarinet in the Millheim American Legion Post #444 band and camping at the Hidden Valley Resort where she and John made many friends.

Nanette is survived by two daughters, Holly A. Grenoble (Doyle-“Ed”) of Avis and Lori K. Corman (Lewis, Jr. – “Butch”) of Millheim: one sister, Doris M. Bittner of Bellefonte; two grandchildren, Lewis “Ted” Corman, III (Sherry) and Doyle “Eddie” Grenoble, IV (Michelle) along with four great grandchildren, Alex, Makenzie, Madyson and Cayden.  In addition to her husband, Nanette was preceded in death by one sister, Lila Glasgow.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 12:30 until 2:00 pm at St. Peters UCC in Aaronsburg.  The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Teresa Hockenberry officiating.  Nanette will be laid to rest in Woodward Cemetery.  Contributions in memory of Nanette may be given to St. Peters UCC, POB 87, Aaronsburg, PA 16820.
