Opal A. (Way) Claycomb Lozinski, formerly of Altoona, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, at home, where she had resided with her daughter for the last several years. She was 104. Born February 12, 1919, in Fishertown, PA, Opal was a daughter of the late Sewell E. and Cleo A. (McLeery) Way. She was first married to Paul E. Claycomb, then Michael Lozinski, both who preceded her in death.
Opal worked as a beautician for many years in Bedford. She enjoyed polka and ballroom dancing.
Surviving is her daughter Nancy Gordon of Spring Mills: three grandchildren, Joy A. McMullen (Sean) of VA, Opal G. Poeth (Dean II) of NY and Gary Z. Gordon (Maureen) of Dubois: five great grandchildren, Dean III, Anna, Harry, Elizabeth and Barry, along with two great great grandchildren, Sophiana and Jamil. Opal was preceded in death by siblings, infant Helen Way, Port Way, Arthur Way, Glenn Way and Mary (Way) Price.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 7-8 pm on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. Opal will be laid to rest in Fishertown Cemetery in Bedford County. Contributions in memory may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.
