Pauline C. Wingard, formerly of Coburn, passed away at Greenwood Village in Lewistown on January 22, 2023. She was 101. Born December 15, 1921, in Aaronsburg, Pauline was a daughter of the late Elmer O. and Ruth I. “Shawver” Musick. On January 14, 1941, she married Norman A. Wingard who preceded her in death on Jan 21, 1998.
Pauline is survived by two daughters, Norma Farrell of Lewistown and Nelda Frazier of Bellefonte: one son, Larry Wingard of Spring Mills and one sister, Naomi Best of New Holland. Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by five siblings.
Pauline was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Coburn. She was employed at the Coburn post office as a postal clerk and also counted trees for the Seven Mountains Nursery. Pauline enjoyed cooking, embroidery, and making quilts. In her earlier years she enjoyed gardening and she especially loved to decorate for Christmas.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am with Pastors Theresa Heiser and Bob Dornan officiating. Pauline will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Pauline may be sent to St. James UMC, POB 90, Coburn, PA 16832.
