Randall E. “Ranny” Winter, of Aaronsburg, passed away April 22, 2021 after a short, but hard fought battle with cancer. He was 89. Born March 31, 1932 in Coburn, Ranny was a son of the late Ruben A. and Kathryn E. “Ripka” Winter. He was married to the former Arlene Confer who preceded him in death on April 9, 2020.
Ranny is survived one daughter, Wanda K. Nishitomi (Kurt) of Tehachapi, CA, and, one son, Randy G. Winter of New Bern, NC. Also surviving are siblings, Pauline “Polly” Stover, Wayne Winter (Betty), Frank Winter (Joyce), Sandy Zimmerman, May Long (Ken), Faye McCool, Kay Stover, Gary Winter (Paula), Karen Copenhaver and Dennis Winter (Michelle) along with four grandchildren. Ranny was preceded in death by siblings, Robert, Marlin and Paul Winter and Norma Coffee and Betty Albright.
Ranny was a member of the Potters Mills VFW, American Legion Keystone Post #444 and the Millheim Fire Co. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and reading.
In accordance with family wishes, services will be private. Ranny will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim. Contributions in memory of Ranny may be given to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
