Rosella Moore Obituary

Rosella M. “Rosie” Moore of Spring Mills, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 8, 2020 after a short, hard fought battle with cancer.  She was 86.  Born May 14, 1933 in Spring Mills, Rosie was a daughter of the late Rufus and Orpha (Snyder) Zerby.  On July 17, 1954 she married Donald E. Moore who preceded her in death on October 4, 2015.

Rosie worked alongside Donnie on the family farm for many years.  Later she was employed for a short time as a caregiver for Care for People in Bellefonte.  She was a hardworking, loving and sometimes feisty mother who loved her family and always worked hard to take care of them.  Rosie attended the God’s Missionary Church in Rebersburg.  She enjoyed reading…..especially her Bible which she read most every day, taking rides in the country with her daughter and doing word search and sudoku puzzles.  In her earlier years while on the farm she enjoyed vegetable gardening.

Rosie is survived by one daughter, Felicia R. Shultz of Spring Mills; two sons, David E. Moore (Dixie) of Spring Mills, and Russell D. Moore (Janette) of Howard; three granddaughters, Jody Haupt (Tom), Angela Homan (Jamie) and Alison Moore; ten great grandchildren, Hunter, Julia, Harley, Dylan, Courtney, Caleb, Tristan, Austin, Wyatt and Evan.  Also surviving are seven great great grandchildren, Liam, Bailey, Brantley, Henry, Eden, Alyana and Chloe.  In addition to her husband, Rosie was preceded in death by one brother Kenneth Zerby.

The family of Rosie would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Family Hospice for the excellent care that was given during her time of sickness. It was greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Rosie’s life will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so.
