Samuel E. “Sammy Ed” Moore, Sr., formerly of Millheim, passed away November 2, 2020 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. He was 86. Born August 24, 1934 in Lock Haven, Sam was a son of the late Lester H. and Sarah I. (Hardy) Moore.
Upon graduation, Sam became an LPN and was employed by Lock Haven Hospital, and an area hospital in Philadelphia. He was also employed at Neff Funeral Home & Furniture Store in Millheim for 50 years and Skills of Central PA for 9 ½ years.
Sam was an avid bingo player and, a collector of Betty Boop memorabilia. He also organized many bus tours and cruises through Fullington Bus Company. He was a member of the Woodward POS of A, Moose International and, the Millheim Fire Company Auxiliary.
Sam is survived by three daughters, Debora K. Kitchen of Mill Hall, Jennie L. Frees (Jim) of Millheim and Lillian A. Rodarmel of Selinsgrove; two sons, Paul E. “Skinner” Moore of Monument and Samuel E. Moore, Jr. of Mill Hall. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael L. Moore; one brother, William Moore and, one grandson Shawn Kitchen.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 10:00 to noon, followed by the funeral service at noon with Pastor Teresa Hockenberry officiating. Anyone planning to attend the services is asked to please wear a mask. Also, if you have any symptoms of illness, please do not attend. Sam will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim.
