Thelma Walizer Obituary

Thelma B. Walizer, 81, of Rebersburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 25th at her home.  Born May 31, 1937 in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Sunday) Breon.  On September 12, 1986, she married Gale Walizer, who survives at home.

In addition to her husband, Gale, Thelma is survived by her sister, Aurelia Taschetta of FL, along with four sons and three daughters, David Walker (Pamela), Gloria Sampsel (James), Judy Shawver (Leroy), Todd Walker, Lisa Snook (Kenton), Mark Walizer (Denise), and Chris Walizer (Penny); 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and Thelma’s fur babies, Cody and Pee-Wee.  Thelma was preceded in death by one sister, Ithael Mae Woods, and four brothers, Ibra Breon, Mahlon Breon, Rufus Breon, and Chalmer Breon.

Thelma was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Rebersburg.  She was employed by Corning Glass Works in 1971 and retired from there with 28 years of service.  She was an avid book reader, enjoyed putting puzzles together and hosting family reunions.  Her greatest enjoyment in life was her children and grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim on Monday, January 28th from 6-8 pm.  There will be a one hour visitation from 10-11 am at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Rebersburg on Tuesday, January 29th, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Valerie DeLooze officiating.  Thelma will be laid to rest in the Evangelical Cemetery in Rebersburg.  Contributions in memory of Thelma may be given to the Emmanuel UMC, Po Box 34, Rebersburg, PA 16872.
