Thomas Lee Hazel, formerly of Millheim, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at Centre Care in Bellefonte. He was 73. Born September 21, 1947 in Bellefonte, Tom was a son of the late Vilas D. and Regina P. “Tharp” Hazel. He was a 1965 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. He had been employed at Hanover Foods in Centre Hall.
Tom enjoyed putting puzzles together and collecting eagles. He loved listening to his favorite country music singer, Tammy Wynette and would sing along with her. But, he especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Tom is survived by siblings, Marjorie E. Floyd of Harrisburg, Robert D. Hazel (Roseanna) of Bellefonte and June K. Owens (Lanny) of Boalsburg. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Susan Floyd, Kimberly Crossman, Michael Hazel, Bobbie Deibler, Angela Wojtaszek, Lori Vose and Steven Owens. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by one brother in law James Floyd.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the UCC & Lutheran Cemetery in Madisonburg with Pastor Teresa Hockenberry officiating. Contributions in memory of Tom may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.
