Thomas C. Hosterman

Surrounded by his loving family, Thomas C. Hosterman, 77, of State College, formerly of Coburn, passed away on August 5, 2025.  Born on May 31, 1948, in Latrobe, Tom was the son of the late Leroy "Ben" and Violet C. "Rote" Mersinger. 

He was a graduate of Penns Valley High School and employed at Penn State University in the Housekeeping Department.  

He enjoyed spending time with him family especially at the Holidays. He was a season ticket holder for the PSU Women’s Volleyball team.  He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Thomas is survived by one daughter, Minnie Goshorn (Adam) of Fayetteville; two sons, Tim Hosterman (Tammy) of Millheim, Tom Hosterman (Amy) of Harrisburg; one sister, Hope Lingle of Aaronsburg; one brother, Duane Mersinger (Rosanna) of Coburn; five grandchildren, Makenna, Colin and Tucker Hosterman, Seth and Quintin Turner. Also surviving is his fiancé, Susan Stoner, who is now caring for his dog Jack "Stinky" and Gretchen Hosterman, the mother of his children, both of State College.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Minnie Mae Rote and his brother-in-law, Kevin Lingle.

In accordance with the families wishes, there will be no services. Contributions in his memory may be given to American Cancer Society POB 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
