Wayne R. Smith

Wayne R. Smith, of Spring Mills, passed away June 19, 2026, at Centre Care in Bellefonte.  He was 81.  He was born on November 20, 1944, in Bellefonte.  Wayne was a son of the late Matthew W. and Lois A. (Knepp) Smith.  On April 19, 1965, Wayne married Deborah Goss who preceded him in death on August 20, 2020.

Wayne was a 1962 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School.  He was employed for over 30 years as a Printing Press Operator at the former Commercial Printing in State College.  Wayne enjoyed hunting, cutting firewood, playing bingo and attending Grange Fair.  His favorite hobby was restoring Farmall tractors with his brother and nephews.  He was a member of the Nittany Antique Machinery Association where he would show the tractors.

Wayne is survived by his brother, Alvin Smith (Betty); four nieces and nephews, Angela Homan, Scott Smith, Penny English, and Kevin Smith along with six great nieces and nephews. 

Wayne will be laid to rest during a public graveside service to be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Fairview Cemetery in Millheim.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Wayne may be given to Penns Valley EMS, 106 Ross Hill Road, Spring Mills, PA 16875.
