Wesley D. Ripka, of Millheim, passed away peacefully at his home after a short, hard fought battle with cancer. He was 31. Born April 7, 1989 in Lewistown, Wes was a son of Dale L. Ripka of Millheim and Amy L. (Hall) Ripka of Centre Hall.
Wes was a 2007 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. Upon graduation from high school, he entered the U. S. Navy and served until 2013. After his return home, he enrolled in the South Hills Business School and attained an associate degree in Business Administration Management and Marketing. He was employed as a cashier at the Japanese grill, Hibachi-San in the Hub- Robeson Center on the campus of Penn State University.
Wes enjoyed attending flea markets and car shows. However, his passion was the Boy Scouts. He attained Eagle Scout status before he was out of high school. He served as Assistant Scoutmaster for a troop when he was stationed on the island of Guam. He loved to support any cause for the Boy Scouts.
In accordance with Wes’ wishes there are no services. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a donation in memory of Wes, he would have wanted them sent to the Boy Scouts of America – Troop 88, c/o St. John’s Lutheran Church, Po Box 439, Millheim PA 16854.
