William W. “Billy” Winkelblech, also known as Wink, formerly of Woodward, passed away on March 10, 2022 at Wynwood House at Salem Hill Haven in Spring Mills. He was 89. Born August 26, 1932 in Aaronsburg, Billy was a son of the late William J. and Miriam L. “Way” Winkelblech. He was a 1950 graduate of the former East Penns Valley High School and attended Penn State University where he studied agriculture.
Billy was a lifelong farmer in Woodward and he loved the green and yellow. He also enjoyed visiting Chilly Willy’s and playing cards with friends. Billy was a long time member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Aaronsburg, the Pennsylvania Farmer’s Association and the Woodward POS of A.
Billy is survived by one sister, Wava Ishler (Carl) of Manheim; three nephews, Steve and Jeff Ishler of Manheim, Kenny Thomas of Hughesville and, one niece, Karen Thomas Brown of Bellefonte. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Doris Thomas and infant sister, Wilma.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 10:00 am until noon at the Salem Lutheran Church in Aaronsburg, followed by the funeral service with Pastor Becky Horn officiating. Billy will be laid to rest in Salem Lutheran Cemetery beside the church. In lieu of flowers, contribution in his memory may be given to the Salem Lutheran Cemetery Association, c/o Curt Stover, POB 114, Aaronsburg PA 16820.
