Charlene Moyer Obituary

Charlene A. “Char” Moyer of Centre Hall, formerly of Rebersburg and Coburn, passed suddenly from this life at her home on Thursday, December 6th.  She was 62.  Born in Bellefonte on November 2, 1956, Char was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Mildred Marie (Styers) Rowles Noll.  Char was a 1975 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School and CPI, formerly Centre County Vocational Technical School. 

Char was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Coburn.  She was a van driver for Stauffer Transportation.  Earlier in life she drove school van and school bus in the Penns Valley School District, worked in personal care homes, cooked in different restaurants, worked for Garbrick Amusements, Your Dad’s Bingo at the Centre County Grange Fair and was a bartender/waitress at the Potters Mills VFW.  Char was an avid Conway Twitty fan and loved to watch Penn State Football, cook, bake, go fishing and go for rides in the country.  Belleville was her favorite place to visit.  She was a non-active member of the Penns Valley EMS and the Centre County Search and Rescue.  Char’s greatest love in life however, was her grandson, Raymond E. Walker.

Surviving Char is one daughter, Michelle M. “Missy” Walker of Centre Hall; one grandson, Raymond E. Walker, who Char lived with; three sisters, Linda M. Solt (Larry) of Centre Hall, Betty J. Neese (George) of Spring Mills, and Bonnie L. Peffer (David) of Daytona Beach, FL; three brothers, Kenneth R. Rowles (Laura) of Rebersburg, Charles I. Rowles (Holly) of Spring Mills, and Michael A. Rowles (Patti) of Centre Hall.  Also surviving is her faithful canine companion, Matty Mae and her former husband, Leroy Walker.  In addition to her parents, Char was preceded in death by her step-father, John Noll. 

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 10:00 am till noon at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim.  The funeral will follow at noon with Pastor K. R. Mele officiating.  Char will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Charlene may be given to
