Leo Alvin Evans, 75, of Millheim, passed from this life at his home on October 2, 2018. Born in Bellefonte on September 12, 1943, Leo was a son of the late Harry D. and Ethel E. (Corman) Evans. He was a 1961 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. On April 7, 1973, he married Lorna M. Miller who preceded him in death on July 8, 2008.
Leo proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam Conflict. When he returned home, Leo was employed as a shift supervisor at the former C-Cor Electronics in State College with 35 years of service. He was a member of the former St. John’s United Church of Christ in Millheim, and a 50 year member of the American Legion Keystone Post #444 in Millheim. Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting guns and reloading his own ammunition. He was a lover of muscle cars and enjoyed NASCAR racing with Dale Earnhardt being his favorite driver.
Leo is survived by one brother, Steven Evans of Centre Hall and three step children, Jerry Wilson of Centre Hall, Darlene Dorfi of State College and Terri Kukahiko of HI. In addition to his wife, Leo was preceded in death by his beloved canine companion Buddy.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 6th from 1-2 pm at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. A memorial service will follow at 2 pm with military honors provided by the Millheim Legion. Leo will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Legion Keystone Post #444, PO Box 301, Millheim, PA 16854.
