Veronica Mary Chadick

Veronica Chadick, formerly of Miles Twp., Centre County, passed on to be with her Holy Father while a resident of the Hearthside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in State College.  She was 90.  She was born January 16, 1928 in Wilmington, DE to her late parents Frank and Gertrude (Ryan) Chadick.

She was the youngest of 6 children and was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis, Paul, John, George and sister Agnes.  Veronica was a beloved Aunt to Francis Chadick of Altoona, George Chadick of Livonia, Barbara Chadick Harer of Livonia, Judith Chadick Brownell of Seminole, FL, Mike Chadick of Seminole, FL, Terry Chadick Walsh of Newark, DE, and Joann Chadick Grussmeyer of Apollo Beach, FL; all living nephews and nieces and many great nephews and nieces.

Earlier in life, Veronica was employed by E.I. Dupont Corporation in Wilmington, DE where she led a fulfilling career that spanned more than 40 years.  While in Delaware she was an active volunteer for a local nursing home.  Upon retirement in 1989, she moved to Florida where she volunteered for a local animal shelter fostering cats in her home.  Aunt Ron lived in Florida until 2012 when she moved to Pennsylvania.  While a resident in Pennsylvania she lived in Livonia and had a residence on Bull Run Road. 

Veronica was a passionate traveler during her life, having traveled to many countries including Australia, Scotland, Brazil, New Zealand, England, France, Cuba and Canada.  She also traveled throughout our nations National Park System and the states of Alaska and Hawaii.  To her family she was an amazing matriarch with a loving generous spirit and she touched many lives with her enthusiasm for life.

We will deeply miss our beloved Aunt Ron.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 2nd from 9-10 am at the Saint Kateri Tekawitha Catholic Church, Route 45 in Spring Mills.  The funeral service will follow at 10:00 am with Father George Jakopac officiating.  Veronica will be laid to rest in the Livonia Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be given to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall, PA, 16828.
