Jean D. (Kness) Bloom

Jean D. “Kness” Bloom of Millmont, formerly of Millheim, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Rolling Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  She was 83.  Born June 28, 1938 in Dubois, Jean was a daughter of the late Clyde and Lila “Craft” Kness.  On January 30, 1960 in the Curwensville Presbyterian Church, Jean married Richard M. Bloom who preceded her in death on January 10, 2007.

Jean was a 1956 graduate of Sandy Township High School in Dubois.  She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and then in the office at Rockwell Manufacturing.  After moving to Millheim, she worked for many years as church secretary at the former St. Luke’s United Methodist Church also in Millheim where she was a member.  Jean enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her children, Craig R. Bloom of Millheim and Elaine V. Meyer (Samuel) of Punta Gorda, FL, along with two grandchildren, Eric C. Bloom and Michael R. Bloom both of Millheim. In addition to her husband, Jean was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen L. Sandy of Dubois and Alice Straw of Coalport; one brother, John C. Kness of Reynoldsville and her daughter in law Lucily T. Bloom of Millheim.

In accordance with family wishes, all services are private.  Jean will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery West in Millheim.  Contributions in memory of Jean may be given to St. James UMC, PO Box 90, Coburn PA 16832.
