Joyce F. (McCool) Winter

Surrounded by her loving family, Joyce F. Winter, of Millheim, passed from this life at her home on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.  She was 83.  Born April 11, 1939, in Lewisburg, Joyce was a daughter of the late William S. and Orpha L. (Orndorf) McCool.  On April 30, 1958, she married Franklin D. Winter who survives at their home.

In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by two daughters, Cindy Gramley (Gary) of Centre Hall and Brenda Rossman (Terry) of Spring Mills: two brothers, Gene McCool (Fran) of Aaronsburg and Curtis McCool (Pam) of Spring Mills: three grandchildren, Terra Deithorn (Eric), Jamie Smith (Tony), and Jesse King (Carolyn) and one step granddaughter, Adrean Fortuna.  Also surviving are eight great grandchildren, Memphis, Oaklee, Alexander, Bentley, Wyatt, Lucas, Kora and Koty, along with four step great grandchildren.  Joyce was preceded in death by a grandson, Brett Rossman and siblings, Gerald McCool and Sharon Stitzer.

Joyce was employed at the former Gettig Engineering in Spring Mills, retiring with 40 years of service.  She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Aaronsburg.  Joyce enjoyed reading, word search puzzles and attending public sales.  She was a homebody and enjoyed taking care of her home and family.  Joyce was a wonderful baker, and especially enjoyed making cookies for her grandchildren. Most of all she loved the time she spent with her family.

In accord with family wishes, all services are private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Joyce may be given to Penns Valley EMS or to the American Heart Association.  She will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.stevenrnefffuneralhome.com.
