Royden Gilleo Obituary

Royden H. Gilleo, of Lewisburg, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, March 9, 2020.  He was 95.  Born January 18, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York, Roy was a son of the late Henry B. Gilleo and Agnes “Shorthouse” Gilleo.  On June 17, 1978, Roy married Jo-Ann Homan who survives at their home in Lewisburg.

In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by one son, Royden P. Gilleo of Myrtle Beach, SC; one stepson, John R. Braun, Jr. (Donna) of Lewisburg; two grandchildren, Stacy Craig Ziegler (Peter) of Trumbull, CT and Royden Christian Gilleo of CO.  Also surviving are five great grandchildren, Paul and Jacob Gilleo, and Peter, Nancie and Emily Ziegler.  Roy was preceded in death by siblings, Agnes and Burt.

Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II.  Upon his return home, Roy started Gilleo Construction where he has been the owner/operator since 1955.  He enjoyed making furniture and, even built the house that he and Jo-Ann lived in.  He always kept active right into his older years.  He and his wife attended the Christ Wesleyan Church in Milton.  One of Roy’s greatest joys was helping people and, sharing the Gospel with them.
