Sally I. (Baney) Hicks

Surrounded by her loving family, Sally I. Hicks of Rebersburg (Livonia), passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at her home.  She was 73.  Born June 10, 1948 in Bellefonte, Sally was a daughter of the late Joseph and Irene “Tharp” Baney.  On July 17, 1965 she married Douglas E. Hicks who preceded her in death on July 1, 2019. 

Spending time with her family was very important to Sally.  Sally attended the Eagle Heights Bible Church in Milesburg.  She also enjoyed cooking, watching Gunsmoke and watching the hummingbirds while sitting on her porch with Pookie, her faithful canine companion who passed away just two weeks before Sally. 

Sally is survived by one daughter, Tammy Broker of Bellefonte; one son, James Hicks (Tracy) of Livonia; seven siblings, Joseph Baney, Paul Baney (Vonnie), Harry Baney (Roxie), Patricia Crock, Joanne Miller (John), Linda Gardner (Dave) and Violet Rockey (Kerry).  Also surviving are six grandchildren, Eddy and Jessica Broker, Courtney Williams (T.J.) and Bryan, Alyssa, and Jimmy Hicks, along with two great grandchildren, Abby Broker and Parker Williams.  In addition to her husband, Sally was preceded in death by one son, Douglas W. Hicks, one great grandson, Grayson J. Williams and siblings, Marie Gardner and Samuel Baney.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Livonia Chapel, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am with Pastor Steve Hicks officiating.  Sally will be laid to rest in the Livonia Cemetery.  Contributions in memory of Sally may be given to Steven R.
