Surrounded by his loving family, Scott R. Kline, Sr. of Rebersburg, passed away at his home on March 9, 2021 after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 48. Born March 9, 1973 in State College, Scott was a son of Kenneth Kline, Sr. and the late April (Styers) Kline. He was a 1991 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School and attended Penn State University for a short time.
Scott was a decorated combat veteran having proudly served our country in the U.S. Army for 14 years ending with the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his return home from the military, Scott was employed as a Corrections Officer at Rockview State Penitentiary. He was a member of the American Legion Keystone Post #444 in Millheim and the West End Social Club in Laurelton. Scott enjoyed Steeler football, hunting, and he especially loved fishing. A lot of the time you could find him at his favorite spot along Penns Creek…..drowning a worm. He loved tinkering in his garage, making friends laugh and joking around with them. But most of all, Scott loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his father, Scott is survived by three daughters; Shawnty M. Houts (Steven) of Centre Hall, Lilly A. Kline of Millheim (Ryan), and Janelle Kline of Rebersburg; one son, Scott R. Kline, Jr. (Alexis) of Rebersburg and, one brother, Kenneth Kline, Jr. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Nicholas T. Alterio, Nathan A. Houts, Karma D. Struble, Colin A. Houts, Nora G.
