Wayne Tressler Obituary

Wayne R. "Red" Tressler of rural Spring Mills, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.  He was 87.  Born January 27, 1933 in Potters Mills, Red was a son of the late Ralph C. and Grace V. (Cummings) Tressler.  Red was married to Joyce (Stover) Tressler who preceded him in death on July 3, 2020.

Red served our country in the U.S. Army as a SGT during the Korean Conflict.  Upon his return from the military he worked a few jobs before becoming employed at Cerro Metals in Bellefonte.  He retired from there with 20+ years of service.  He was a member of the Gregg Twp. Fire Company, the Central District 2021 Volunteer Firemen’s Association and, the American Legion Keystone Post 444 in Millheim.  Red was a “jack of all trades” and willingly helped family and friends with any project they may have.  He enjoyed watching all kinds of car racing, but he especially loved to hunt.

Red is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Mahlon A. Tressler, Jack A. Tressler and Stanley Tressler and also his best furry buddy "Max"

A graveside service will be announced at a later date when he and Joyce will be laid to rest together at Heckman Cemetery in Spring Mills.  Contribution in Red’s memory may be given to PAWS, 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA 16801.
