Jeremy L. Stover, 44, of Rebersburg, passed from this life on Thursday, September 22nd in Gregg Township.  Born May 5, 1972 in State College, Jeremy is the son of Alice M. Etters Young of Bellefonte and the late Terry L. Stover.  He was a 1990 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School and obtained his CDL license from Clearfield County Vocational Technical School in 2000.  On October 24, 1998 Jeremy was united in marriage to Shannon L. Hoover.  Shannon survives at their home along with their son, Jarrett Stover.

In addition to his wife, mother and son, Jeremy is survived by sister, Rachel Heverly (Daniel) of Howard; stepsiblings, Chad Young and Kristin Larson (Erik) both of VA, and Justin Rickert (Abbey) of Mill Hall; niece, Kara Young and nephew, Gunner Larson both of VA; nephews, Mason and Kamden Rickert and niece Alyssa Rickert all of Mill Hall.  Also surviving is Jeremy’s stepfather, Michael P. Young of Bellefonte; stepmother, Stacy Stover of Centre Hall; his mother-in-law, Laura Hoover (George Dreibelbis) of Bellefonte and his paternal grandmother, Pauline Stover of Spring Mills, along with aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, Jeremy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Wilmer E. “Dick” Stover, both maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Myrtle Etters and cousin, Richard Musser.

He was previously employed in landscaping, which he enjoyed very much, and was a self-employed truck driver for many years.  Most recently he was employed by the Larson Transportation Institute in Penn State’s College of Engineering as a Test Track Driver since 2009.  In his position, he supported testing and research activities to evaluate new and advanced technologies for the United States Department of Transportation, State Department, and Department of Homeland Security and Industry.

He played football, basketball, and baseball at Penns Valley Area High School and later played men’s softball.  He enjoyed hunting, camping and “porch night” with family and friends, detailing, repairing and restoring vehicles with a special love for MOPAR, and most especially, riding motorcycles.

The greatest joy for Jeremy was teaching his son Jarrett the games of baseball and football.  That joy was further enhanced by coaching Jarrett and passing on to him his love of the game and Jeremy’s pride was there for all to see at Penns Valley Little League Baseball games.  His coaching was more than just about baseball as he taught the kids life lessons that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives because of their respect and admiration for their coach.  He was a positive role model with a dedication and demeanor that not only greatly benefited the kids but also resonated with the parents as well.

Shannon and Jarrett relied heavily on their strong husband and father and his passing will leave a gaping hole in their lives.  He was the best thing that ever happened to Shannon or Jarrett.   He was a kind and generous man who was always willing to help others and in doing so made their lives better and that will surely be missed.   While his life was cut short way too soon, his memory will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him.  In thinking of him remember him for his smile and his laughter as that is how he would want it and know that he will be smiling back.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 2 to 4pm at the Penns Valley Area High School Auditorium, to be followed by the memorial service at 4pm with Pastor Dave Downer officiating.
