It is with a sad heart that I send you this condolence Peg, Matt, and Mike. I was surprised to read Gary's name in the paper. I didn't even know he was sick. He was a dear friend, father, and husband. Gary always knew how to make you laugh. I wanted to share this quick story with you guys. When we were working at Corvette America Gary came to work with a U-hall, you guys were moving from Crossfork to where you live now. While we were working the guys unhitched the U-hall, so when we went to go home that night all of the guys were peaking out of the windows. Gary pulled out onto the highway and made a huge turn as if he was pulling the U-hall. We drove the whole way out to route 45 I had to let Gary know before we drove the whole way home. I said to him " Are you missing anything?" , he looked around and said " Ah man, I'm missing my lunch pail!', which was true he did leave it at work. I said " No, something bigger than that". That's when he said " You guys are going to pay for this!", we drove back to work, when we pulled in the parking lot all of the guys were standing there laughing. We got out of the truck, we all laughed and had a beer. We drove home to the house, we unloaded the truck and laughed the whole time doing it. I will always remember this story and the many other jokes and stories we shared at work. I wish you guys the best and when you are feeling down missing Gary pull up a story of your own and Gary will always be there with you. Gary is a person who I am proud to say was my very dear friend and he will be missed profoundly. Your friend Steve.

Dear Peg and boys:
Words cannot express how sad this is. I have so many wonderful memories of Gary that I will hold forever. How amazingly kind he was with Derek and all little kids, his grumpy pretense when deep down he was just a big teddy bear, how he came to my rescue when I bashed down my own garage door to get into the house, and on and on and on. A man like that touched many lives and will live on through them and through you. I am sorry, and I love you guys, Kristin
