Janice C. Bellis

Janice Carol Bellis, (Cook/Mimi), passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.  She was 81.  Janice resided in Potters Mills with her surviving husband, Edward David Bellis.  Born in 1933 in Harrisburg, Janice was raised in Springers Lane, New Cumberland.  She was the daughter of the late George Washington and Mary (Troup) Swavely.  Janice had a previous marriage to Henry Alfred Winklestin, who also preceded her in death.

Some of her favorite pastimes were gardening, crocheting, bingo, playing cards, croquet, drinking tea and eating ice cream.  Ed and Janice frequently vacationed to Bar Harbor, ME, her favorite vacation spot.

Janice is survived by three children: Gary Alfred Winklestin and wife Viviana, Linda Carol Stover and husband Ed, and Gayle Ann Kuhlman.  Also surviving are five grandchildren: Samuel Kerry Owens II, Heather Marie Kuhlman, Megan Aleen Kuhlman, Jonathan Alfred Winklestin, Christopher Gary Winklestin and great-grandchild, Samuel Kerry Owens III.   Janice was preceded in death by two siblings; George and Edwin Swavely.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from noon until 1:00 pm on Friday, February 13th at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Rev. Andy Cooley officiating.  Janice will be laid to rest in Centre County Memorial Park in State College.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Janice may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home.
